GamblingLog Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 10, 2026
GamblingLog is a personal recordkeeping app for gambling sessions. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app stores, how that information is used, and what choices you have.
Information You Enter
GamblingLog stores the information you choose to enter into the app, including:
- Casino names
- Game types, game names, and subgame names
- Session dates
- Money in and money out
- Free play and comp play amounts
- Optional session notes
- Imported CSV data
- App settings, backup settings, and display preferences
How Your Data Is Stored
GamblingLog stores your data on your device. If iCloud is enabled for the app and available on your device, your data may sync through Apple iCloud using your Apple account.
If you choose to export, print, share, or back up your data, that information may be saved to or handled by the destination app, service, cloud storage provider, or location you select.
If you create a custom app passcode, GamblingLog stores a salted hash of that passcode in the iOS Keychain on your device. GamblingLog does not store the readable passcode.
Location Use
GamblingLog may request access to your location when you use the nearby casino search feature. When you use this feature, your location and place-search terms may be sent to Apple Maps or MapKit to return nearby casino or hotel-casino suggestions. GamblingLog saves the casino name you select, not your precise location.
GamblingLog does not use your location for advertising, tracking, or background monitoring.
App Updates and Network Requests
GamblingLog periodically requests a small configuration file from infinitebits.net to determine whether updated Tax Helper rules or an important app update are available. GamblingLog does not include your gambling records in this request.
The website and its hosting provider may process standard technical information needed to deliver the request, such as an IP address, request date and time, and basic connection information.
Exports, Backups, Sharing, and Printing
GamblingLog includes features that allow you to import and export CSV files, create backups, share session text, and print or save reports as PDFs. These actions are controlled by you.
Once you export, share, print, or back up data outside the app, that data is handled by the app, service, or storage location you choose.
Premium Purchases
Premium purchases and purchase restoration are processed by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit. GamblingLog checks the purchase entitlement needed to unlock Premium features. GamblingLog does not receive or store your payment-card information.
Diagnostics
Apple may provide crash and performance diagnostics to the developer when a user has chosen to share diagnostics with app developers through Apple or device settings. These reports may include technical information such as the app version, device model, operating system version, and crash details. GamblingLog does not intentionally add the contents of your gambling records to diagnostic reports.
GamblingLog does not currently include third-party advertising, analytics, or crash-reporting SDKs.
What GamblingLog Does Not Do
- GamblingLog does not sell your personal data.
- GamblingLog does not use advertising tracking.
- GamblingLog does not process wagers, bets, deposits, or gambling transactions.
- GamblingLog does not provide financial, tax, legal, gambling, or responsible-gaming advice.
Third-Party Services
GamblingLog may interact with Apple services such as iCloud, Apple Maps, MapKit, the App Store, StoreKit, printing, sharing, diagnostics, and system file/storage features. Your use of those services is subject to Apple's terms and privacy practices.
If you choose to export, share, or back up data to another app or cloud provider, that provider's policies apply to the data you send there.
Your Choices and Control
You can add, edit, and delete entries in GamblingLog. You can choose whether to enable iCloud for the app through your device settings. You can also choose whether to export, share, print, or back up your data.
Removing GamblingLog from your device removes its local app data, but it may not delete data already synced to iCloud. You can manage applicable synced data through your iCloud settings.
CSV files, backups, PDFs, shared content, and other copies saved outside GamblingLog remain in the apps, services, or storage locations you selected and must be deleted separately.
Data Retention and Security
Data stored by GamblingLog remains on your device or in your applicable iCloud storage until you delete it or manage it through the relevant Apple settings. Exports and backups remain where you saved them until you remove them.
GamblingLog uses Apple-provided storage and security features where available, but no method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Children
GamblingLog is not intended for children. The app is designed for personal recordkeeping by users who are legally permitted to gamble in their jurisdiction.
Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. When it changes, the "Last updated" date will be revised.
